| Patty Maly was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She studied painting and printmaking at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and earned a BFA with a concentration in ceramics from Xavier University in 1984. After graduation she became a professional potter making painted earthenware vessels. Patty moved to Portland, Oregon in 1993 and continued to make pots and explore other media. About fifteen years ago she began experimenting with oils and monotypes, eventually redirecting her focus to painting and printmaking. | ||
